Auction of work by Zoom Arts members to raise funds for Hastings Supports Refugees
Every year Zoom Arts presents a group exhibition of work for auction, the proceeds from the sale of work being directly donated to a different charity each time. This year’s auction, which takes place this week, will be raising money for Hastings Supports Refugees.
Through their hard work, Hastings Supports Refugees have already raised over £7,000, which has been spent on shelter for the Calais camp and getting vital aid to the Greek islands, and has provided several volunteer groups across Europe with financial assistance when they need it most.
Starting on Monday 26 June, Zoom Arts are displaying artwork, including photography, at the Zoom Arts Gallery at Warrior Square Station in St Leonards. The gallery will be open from 10am to 4pm throughout the week. Sealed bids may be submitted during the showings.
On Saturday 1 July, an auction will be held at the gallery at 2pm. The sealed bids will be opened, but once they are revealed, those present will have a chance to outbid them. There will also be live bidding for items which have not attracted a sealed bid.
It’s a chance for members of the public to buy high quality art at knock-down prices whilst helping a worthy cause.
A private view of the artworks in the exhibition will be held on Monday 26 June, from 7 to 9pm. It is open to all and drinks and nibbles will be provided.
