New shows at Zoom’s Warrior Square gallery and Oscar’s

Two new shows provide more momentum to the revival of the visual arts in Hastings. Anna Bachène will open a new exhibition at the Zooms Arts gallery at Warrior Square station next week, while Nick Hill already has an exhibition under way at Oscar’s on the Square. Nick Terdre reports.

Nick Hill exhibition at Zoom’s Warrior Square station gallery

Nick Hill’s solo show for charity as part of Coastal Currents

Anna Bachene is back at Zoom Arts gallery

Jack in the Green inspired art

Suzanne Kelly, originally from New York, moved to this area after being taken by its strong arts community and the wealth of inspiring land and seascapes. A member of the Zoom Arts 1066 group, she is exhibiting her brightly coloured abstracted landscapes and seascape paintings, inspired by her move to Hastings, St Leonards and the Jack in the Green Festival.

Zoom’s mural gives a panoramic view of town

Visitors arriving in Hastings by rail are offered a panoramic foretaste of the sights to be seen around town by a collage of views seen through the lens of photographers from the Zoom Arts group. Nick Terdre reports.

Hands On: collect your artwork!

Zoom Arts are running a 2 day event, showing the work produced at a workshop for children they ran in the summer. Go along and see the show and if you – or someone you know – took part in the workshop, your creation will be ready for collection. Susan Cleland of Zoom Arts writes.
