Wheels, and a grant, will help energy advice group reach residents in remoter parts

Energise Sussex Coast’s winter energy advice service has resumed. And with the aid of an Energy Caravan the group will be extending its service to out-of-town areas. Nick Terdre reports.

Great news for 1066 Local Energy campaign

After long negotiations and discussions, the directors of Ore Campus of East Sussex College Hastings have said ‘Yes’ to the installation of solar panels on their roof. Fantastic news, marking the first big success of the 1066 Local Energy Campaign. HOT’s Zelly Restorick spoke to Richard Watson of Energise Sussex Coast, one of the partner organisations involved in the project.

The Future is Green for young people

Green energy and how it can power our future was the talking point at a recent day-long symposium at Sussex Coast College. Twelve high-profile future energy ‘champions’ addressed a mixed audience of students and other guests as part of Green GB Week. The high-profile symposium, organised by Energise Sussex Coast and Community Energy South was also attended by Amber Rudd MP, Peter Chowney, leader of the council and Nigel Sinden, the Mayor of Hastings. Solar energy projects rolling in Bexhill

Innovative energy projects are under way at Glenleigh Park Primary Academy in Sidley and Bexhill Youth and Community Centre, with the introduction of solar power generation as a main aim – not to mention the educative benefits as the projects are implemented. Nick Terdre reports.
