Greenway walking season kicks off!

Hastings Greenway Group is summoning supporters to join in this year’s first walk for the greenway. They welcome the fact that the project enjoys support from most of the parties in the upcoming local elections, but have found it hard to clarify whether they qualify for a grant from a walking and cycling fund which could help bring the dream closer to reality. Joining forces for sustainable transport

Sustainable Transport Day last Saturday proved a worthwhile venture, bringing together various groups of people with an interest in transport questions and highlighting the authorities’ failure to implement the Hastings Walking and Cycling Strategy which was agreed in 2014. Nick Terdre reports.

Day of action to build public support for safe walking and cycling routes this Saturday

Safe and convenient solutions for pedestrians and cyclists to get around town will be in focus in a day of action on Saturday 22 April, not least the Walking and Cycling Strategy adopted by Hastings Borough Council three years ago but still awaiting implementation. Nick Terdre reports.

Call to object to Church Street development

Friends of Speckled Wood are opposed to a planning application to build houses in Church Street on the border of Speckled Wood, and have called on supporters to lodge objections. Nick Terdre reports.

Ready to push ahead with Speckled Wood plans

Take the greenway route to the Conquest
