Time To Shine a huge success

After ten weeks of rehearsals, The Time to Shine Project, working with individuals and choir members of The Seaview Project, held their finale night at The Royal Masonic Hall, delighting their audience, who sang along, cried, laughed, cheered and gave the participants standing ovations. Twas truly a night to remember – for everyone involved. Zelly Restorick writes.

He saw, he swam, he cone-quered

A few days ago, William The Cone-queror, aka William Stevens, he of the famous ice-cream bicycle who literally peddles his wares (Di Paulo’s ice cream from Bexhill) along our seafront promenade and at local events, achieved his goal of swimming from Royal Sovereign Lighthouse to St Leonards’ beach by Azur. All in the name of charitable goodWill, raising money for The Seaview Project and FSN. HOT’s Zelly Restorick asks him some questions about himself and his successful but exhausting mission.

This week! Rough sleeping for Seaview

This Friday, it’s The Big Sleep Hastings 2016 – with the goal to raise more funds for the Seaview Project than last year (£23,000) – and simultaneously raise awareness of homelessness. HOT’s Zelly Restorick takes up the HOT Big Sleep baton from last year’s cardboard citizen, Nick Terdre. She’ll be joining up with the many other one-night-insomniacs who’re taking part in the experience, united by spending the night in a cardboard city at the Stade.

Time To Shine

On Friday 23 September a group of service users from Seaview, a local centre supporting marginalised individuals within the community, will be at the Masonic Hall in St Leonards singing their hearts out with a live band of West End musicians, in a show that promises to be a truly inspiring experience. None of them have taken on such a challenge before, but with the help of The Time to Shine Project, they intend to face their fears and give their audience a night to remember! Zelly Restorick speaks to Alison Cooper to find out more.

Seaview’s Big Sleep coming soon

This will be the second year that people will be sleeping rough at the Stade, raising awareness of homelessness and very necessary funds for the Seaview Project in St Leonards, where staff offer invaluable and vital support to vulnerable people in the community. You can still take part – or sponsor someone who’s actively participating (sleeping rough – even for one night – isn’t for everyone). All contributions gratefully received by everyone involved with Seaview! Zelly Restorick writes.
