Are you ready for a night of sleeping rough?

Fancy a brief taste of homelessness? Seaview Project is organising the Big Sleep, a mass sleep-out to allow local residents to experience a little of what life is like for the growing number of those who find themselves homeless and sleeping on the streets. Nick Terdre reports.

ESCC joins funding cut protest

East Sussex County Council has voted unanimously to oppose the government’s decision to end Local Welfare Assistance funding, the ultimate safety net for the most deprived, adding its voice to those raised against the move by local charities and the Local Government Association. Nick Terdre reports.

Looking beyond the labels

No Labels is a documentary photographic exhibition currently showing at Hastings Museum and Art Gallery. The intention of local photographer, John Stiles, is to show viewers the characters and personalities of some of the people who attend the Seaview Project, asking us to look beyond the labels and see the individuals. HOT’s Zelly Restorick went along to the exhibition and spoke to Stiles about his work.
