Surviving Christmas in top gear

This week the Surviving Christmas charity is in top gear, with a focus on packing and delivering hampers across Hastings and Rother ahead of opening its doors on Christmas and Boxing days to provide festive hospitality to those who would otherwise miss out. It’s all systems go for Christmas charities

Christmas is a busy time for charities working with homeless people and families short of the resources to provide for themselves at the toughest time of the year. This is especially true for those charities with a Christmas focus, such as Surviving Christmas, which will be providing its usual seasonal hospitality. Another event has been arranged at the YMCA. Ore Green goes to local Community Trust

Hastings Borough Council have offered Ore Community Land Trust a 25-year lease on Ore Green, next to the Salvation Army Hall, boosting their campaign to protect Speckled Wood, writes Tony Polain, the trust’s vice chair.
