Hastings Lantern Society opens its doors

Concerns aired about Observer Building plan

Concerns about the proposed development of the Observer Building in central Hastings were aired at a public meeting on Monday, with former local councillor Godfrey Daniel providing advice on how objections should be framed. The period for submitting comments has been extended to 9 September. Nick Terdre listened in.

Public meeting on Monday 22 August to discuss revised plans for the Observer Building

The public consultation period for the revised plans for the Observer Building is soon to close, which has caused a flurry of activity on the borough council planning website, writes Erica Smith. It’s also led to local resident Lorna Lloyd co-organising a public meeting about the proposed changes with Castle Ward Forum councillor, Lee Clarke.

Let your hair down at the Fat Tuesday festival

The Fat Tuesday festival is upon us, a chance to let your hair down before submitting to the deprivations of Lent, if you’re that way inclined. Alternatively simply a chance to let your hair down. The organisers have largely stuck to last year’s tried and tested formula, with daytime events at the weekend complementing the evening and late-night happenings on the other nights.
