They talk about the genesis of the sixties counterculture, his use of LSD and his involvement with macrobiotics, health and the Soil Association, a UK based charity which developed the world’s first organic certification system.

New name, same aim

The local action group that was called World Development Movement Bexhill and Hastings unveiled its new name and logo at a launch event last Friday. Under its new name, Global Justice Bexhill and Hastings will continue its usual operations, including holding regular meetings, running stalls, lobbying MPs and organising protests, as it explains below.

Local call to oppose new colonialisation of Africa

On Sunday 3 August campaigners from the Bexhill and Hastings World Development Movement (WDM) group will once again be active participants in St Leonards Gardens Festival, this time highlighting the government’s support for what they see as a new colonialisation of Africa. The group’s Christina Lucey reports.
