Source wins Heritage Angels awards

Rich and Marc Moore, the local innovators and entrepreneurs who created The Source BMX Park have jointly won the Historic England Heritage Angel Award for the ‘Best Rescue of an Historic Building’, as well as the ‘Historic England Followers’ and Telegraph readers’ People’s Choice Award’ for a heritage project. The awards ceremony was held at the Palace Theatre in London on 20 November 2017. Zelly Restorick writes.

Big Air on a G String

The world’s largest subterranean skate park – Source in Hastings – normally resounds to an eclectic mix of rock, punk and hip hop, but on Tuesday 14 February, freestyle BMXers and skateboarders will be able to hear some of the world’s most talented young pianists killing it on the keyboard of a grand piano while they shred the vert. Source Park: worth the risk

Hastings entrepreneurs Rich and Marc Moore are pulling out all the stops to ensure that the beachside skatepark complex, known as Source Park, is open for a spectacle this Saturday 13 February 2016, writes Chris Cormack.  All this for a few thrills and spills you may say, but no, this is the training base for the new 21st century heroes. Yes, there will be bumps and scrapes, a ‘health and safety nightmare’, but well done Hastings Borough Council for identifying that this is what is needed nevertheless as an outlet for adventure.
