Call to put road application on hold

Combe Haven Defenders have called on Rother District Council to put Sea Change Sussex’s application to build the North Bexhill Access Road on hold until it has a business case and funding in place. The Council says it is bound to hear the application before year-end. Nick Terdre reports.

This weekend, campaigners will set up a pop-up camp and plant trees on the route of the Queensway Gateway Road in Hollington Valley, as part of their ongoing fight to stop this road being built.  The camp will include a social event on the Saturday afternoon (3pm) with tree-planting, music, tea and cake.

Significant and adverse impact on wildlife site

A report written by the Environment and Natural Resources Manager for Hastings Borough Council has raised serious concerns about the impact of the proposed Queensway Gateway road on the Hollington Valley Site of Nature Conservation Importance.

Event remembers all victims of war

On 8 November the Peace Garden in Alexandra Park provided the setting for a service remembering all victims of war. John Enefer of Hastings Against War describes the occasion.
