Read Your Way competition winners

The “Read Your Way” campaign launched a photography competition in June that asked parents to send in pictures of their children reading some of their favourite books; and they have announced the three winners, writes Vanessa Alves.

A fold in time and space

Fold is a new exhibition by visual artist, Sharon Haward, who has thirty years experience of developing a multi-disciplinary practice hinging on the exploration of site and sense of place. She is exhibiting a range of assemblages and objects inspired by Modernist architecture and the contributions made to it by female and male architects and designers. The work on show has been created during a short residency at The School Creative Centre, Rye. HOT’s Zelly Restorick asks Sharon about the new exhibition, her inspirations and goals.

Cabaret Mechanical Theatre on the pier

For the first time, internationally famous Cabaret Mechanical Theatre is bringing a fascinating and extraordinary exhibition of automata to Hastings pier, including enchanting mechanical moving toys and other beautifully engineered inventions from their collection. Zelly Restorick asks owner, operator, curator and Bexhill resident, Sarah Alexander, about the exhibition.
