CHD wrong on road project, say Sea Change

Sea Change Sussex, the agency applying to build the Queensway Gateway Road, have taken issue with Combe Haven Defenders’ (CHD) representation of the project in yesterday’s article entitled New road set to increase traffic congestion. A spokesman sent HOT the following statement.

New road set to increase traffic congestion

The Queensway Gateway Road which Sea Change Sussex is applying to build will increase delays, according to the developer’s own transport study. The contradictory effect has been pointed out by Combe Haven Defenders. Nick Terdre reports.

Fire fulfils fears for Glovers Farmhouse

Fire in the early hours of Friday 17 October destroyed most of Glovers Farmhouse, fulfilling the worst fears of groups which had raised concerns about the deterioration of the building, part of the area in which Sea Change Sussex has received outline planning permission to build Gateway Road and the first stage of the proposed Bexhill Innovation Park. Where have all the newts gone?

Concerns about the fate of newts displaced by the construction of the Bexhill-Hastings Link Road have been raised by Combe Haven Defenders. However, attempts to get a satisfactory answer – or any answer – from the responsible body, Natural England, have so far failed. CHD’s Andrea Needham reports.
