Beach Clean Spring 2018

Local resident, Colin Derbyshire is committed to marine protection and has organised a beach clean for Spring 2018, working in collaboration with Surfers Against Sewage. The sea is our USP here in Hastings and St Leonards on Sea, so it makes sense to look after shores.

“Enclosure by stealth” irks Old Town residents

Old Town residents and supporters are up in arms at what they see as “enclosure by stealth” – attempts by the owner of the amusement park on the Stade to take control of the public footpath which runs round part of the boating lake. Two petitions have been delivered, which leave the authorities in no doubt as to their feelings. Nick Terdre reports.

Hastings Old Town wins Ramblers Association vote!

HOT recently posted an article about the Ramblers Association search for Britain’s Best Walking Neighbourhood, ‘an urban area that is well designed for going about everyday life on foot’, urging you to vote for Hastings Old Town.
