Everybody DANCE! – fancy footwork not essential…

This weekend, a truly inclusive dance festival comes to Hastings and Rother. There will be dance events to watch and dance classes to join in. A sense of rhythm will help, but it doesn’t matter if you have two left feet or even no feet at all. HOT’s Erica Smith finds out more from one of the organisers, Esther Fox.

Knit your own fish and chip shop

As youngsters, we were told that making fishing nets was easy: all fishermen do is sew a few holes together! Well, now you can bring your own holes, create your own nets and much, much more at a series of wonderful workshops on offer at Stade Hall throughout May and June.

The Big Draw at Hastings Arts Forum

Everyone can draw. Really, everyone. And that’s according to the much-loved illustrator Quentin Blake, who’s been saying this since he launched The Big Draw over thirteen years ago, writes HOT reporter John Cole.

Knitting for change

‘Knitting for Change’ is a concept brought to life in the form of a knitted graffiti wall. The project, which was supported by Hastings Borough Council, is currently on display at Hastings Museum on Bohemia Road. The wall is made from donated wool and recycled knitted garments. The knitted installation was led by a mother/daughter collaboration, as the mother, Linda Moffatt, explains.
