Putting the case for drones

Drones are not everyone’s cup of tea, and can attract fierce criticism – drone rage – as expressed in HOT’s pages last year. Drone enthusiast Nick Emmons thinks much of this is misplaced, as he explains. Via his drone, he has also supplied some fascinating aerial shots of Hastings Country Park.

The nights are drawing in, but the lights are shining bright on Hastings’ biggest stage at the White Rock Theatre (WRT). A brand new line-up of great live entertainment has been announced with many new shows, live music, stand-up comedy and the best in touring theatre. A book for Christmas for every school child in Hastings!

This Christmas the news from The National Literacy Trust is that there will be a book for every school child in Hastings. Bloomsbury is donating 9,000 books to be given to school children from reception to Year 9, ages 5-14. The three-year Bloomsbury and the National Literacy Trust partnership aim to inspire a love of reading and improve literacy levels in Hastings.

Australian summer blows into St Leonards

On these rainy, grey days there is an exuberant exhibition in St Leonards that lights the day. Summer has blown into the Solaris Gallery:  Susan Taylor – Australian Summer.  HOT’s Lauris Morgan-Griffiths was considerably cheered by the images that celebrate shapes, colour and nature with flowing complex shades and tones that lighten the dreariness of English winter.
