Skinny Lister at The Stade

Stade Saturdays take place at Stade Open Space, Rock-a-Nore Road in Hastings – and are FREE for everyone to come along and enjoy! This Saturday (30 September) Skinny Lister will be playing: rapidly becoming the nation’s foremost folk rock band, it’s only natural that they are heading up Hastings and Rother’s Music Month. Michael Hambridge, Arts and Cultural Development Officer for Hastings Borough Council, writes.

4th year for Battle Festival

10 October: Love Hastings Love Yourself CD launch for World Mental Health Day

The Love Hastings Love Yourself Team have been very busy since this time last year when the first LHLY event was held at The Observer Building. Over the last 12 months there has been a series of pop-up Happiness Cafes, a stall at Hastings Pride and a plethora of other activities including an all-day Together for Mental Wellbeing music and spoken word event at The Palace on 1 April this year. Since then, the participating musicians, poets and choirs have all recorded a song for a CD.

Fish House progress report

Ken Davis, local resident, insulation specialist and architect, bought The Fish House – an ex fish-shop – in Hastings specifically to demonstrate how a wreck of a building could be transformed into a beautiful eco-refurb home. From time to time, he has given us updates about this work is progressing.
