Israel lobby launches malicious attack on Hastings PSC event

When Hastings Palestine Solidarity Campaign planned a public meeting with Dr Jenny Tonge on Everyday Life in Apartheid Israel, they arranged to hold the event at the White Rock Hotel. But the hotel found itself the victim of a malicious attack by the pro Israel lobby, forcing a switch of venue, as HPSC’s Laurie Holden explains.

Call for pier volunteers

As the re-opening of pier draws closer – next month! – Hastings Pier Charity is looking for volunteers to help run the attraction. A recruitment day is planned for Tuesday 8 March. Celebrations to mark the re-opening are also planned. Nick Terdre reports.

Hastings chess spoils shared

It was heads down and much deep thinking as chess players from around the world competed at the Hastings International Chess Congress –

White Rock Trust will soon base itself at the newly refurbished Rock House (image: WRT).

When Hastings’ reborn pier opens for business next year, the 325,000 visitors it is expected to attract to the town offer a great potential boost for regeneration. And capturing regeneration potential in its area is the mission of the White Rock Trust, which is preparing to move into a new base. Trust coordinator, Ed Lofts, explains all to Nick Terdre.
