Urgent need for a sustainable food system

Energise Sussex Coast and Transition Town Hastings recently organized a talk and supper event at The Beacon with organic farmer, Patrick Holden, who set up the Sustainable Food Trust. Local independent bookshop needs support

Independent book shops are gems, standing out from – and up against – competition from the book selling chain stores. Tim Barton is a committed book lover and book seller, supporting local writers, performers and artists. In need of refurbishment and expansion into new areas – like a cafe for visitors – Tim is keen to raise some financial support to manifest the vision he has for Bookbuster. HOT’s Zelly Restorick helps spread the word.

The St Leonards Four

The St Leonards Four at the Kave Gallery

There are many ways in which you might experience an art exhibition.  You may feel overwhelmed by sheer technical brilliance, moved by a depth of vision on the part of the artist, or challenged by work which is beyond your comfort zone.  All can be rewarding experiences.  However, every now and then you get to visit a show where you WANT all the pieces on display.  This is one of them.  HOT reporter Cathy Simpson comments on the current exhibition at the Kave Gallery.
