DWP ups sticks in favour of the town centre

The Department for Work and Pensions’ branch at Ashdown House is to move to the town centre, occupying offices in Sea Change Sussex’s Havelock Place and the University of Brighton’s Lacuna Place. The move will help Sea Change repay the loan with which it developed Havelock Place. Nick Terdre reports.

It’s all systems go for Christmas charities

Christmas is a busy time for charities working with homeless people and families short of the resources to provide for themselves at the toughest time of the year. This is especially true for those charities with a Christmas focus, such as Surviving Christmas, which will be providing its usual seasonal hospitality. Another event has been arranged at the YMCA. Bags of Help for Energise Sussex Coast

Energise Sussex Coast is bidding to bag a massive cash boost for its ‘Science Lab on the Beach’ project from the Tesco Bags of Help initiative. This really is an excellent community organisation, who are doing all they can to reduce local fuel poverty and develop local community energy, so that the benefits stay within Hastings and St Leonards.
