Only In St Leonards: A Year On The Marina

A new book of poetry by Brian Docherty, Only In St. Leonards: A Year On The Marina, (Special Sorts Press, 2017) will be available soon from St. Michaels Hospice, Upper Maze Hill in St. Leonards. This is a signed, limited edition book of new poems, as a fundraiser for the Hospice.

3 in 1 Challenge for Sara Lee Trust

This October, The Sara Lee Trust is offering daredevils the chance to take part in a unique 3 in 1 Challenge event. Do you dare to walk barefoot over hot coals and cut glass and then chop through wood with just your hand all in support of the Trust? South Pacific and the £1,000 goal

Actors and actresses from The Renaissance Theatre Company are performing the award winning Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, South Pacific at the beautiful St Mary in the Castle on Hastings seafront. And this year, they want to raise at least £1,000 from their performances, as it would mean they’ve raised £30,000 for St Michael’s Hospice since 2009, especially as the hospice is celebrating its 30 Year Anniversary. Tuula Ward writes.

Fish cruises home in wind-blown half marathon

Under overcast skies with strong winds gusting, Blackburn’s Ben Fish won the men’s race and Sarah Gruber the women’s in the 2017 Hastings Half Marathon. Nearly 3,500 entered the popular event, which as usual is expected to have raised thousands of pounds for charity. Nick Terdre reports.
