Ore CLT takes over parts of Speckled Wood

Ore Community Land Trust have taken ownership of parts of Speckled Wood from the council. As they prepare to receive further plots, work is under way to clear accumulated rubbish on their new land. Nick Terdre reports.

Ore Valley Action is mobilising support to oppose plans for a high-density housing project off Frederick Road in the Ore Valley. A meeting will be held on 2 December to inform the local public what the plans entail. Nick Terdre reports.

Call to object to Church Street development

Friends of Speckled Wood are opposed to a planning application to build houses in Church Street on the border of Speckled Wood, and have called on supporters to lodge objections. Nick Terdre reports.

Ready to push ahead with Speckled Wood plans

Ore Community Land Trust (CLT) recently passed an important milestone in their plans for Speckled Wood: they are now constituted as a charity, which should facilitate the task of seeking funding. Walk the walk for the Ore Valley Greenway

Funding is available for walking and cycling routes in Hastings and Bexhill – and supporters of the Ore Valley Greenway route would like to have some of it. They have organised a walk along the route today in support of their initiative, as they explain.

Views sought on Greenway route through Ore

Ore Community Land Trust has launched a consultation on a section of the proposed route of the Hastings Greenway through Ore. Drop-in sessions will be held on Friday 16 and Saturday 17 September. The Friends of Speckled Wood have expressed reservations about the route. Nick Terdre reports.
