Blacksmiths have started a three-month project to help an historic greenhouse start a new, working life. Ben Crosthwaite and Tobias Cobrin are cleaning, painting or replacing cast iron and steel  parts on the structure at Alexandra Park, Hastings, so that its ventilation  windows can function again. The Alexandra Park Greenhouse Group is busily engaged in fund-raising for its project to restore the greenhouse and wants your vote in a competition offering a substantial prize. Nick Terdre reports.

Vote for historic greenhouse restoration

Two blacksmiths are planning to forge a new future for an historic greenhouse as a community project. Tobias Cobrin and Ben Crosthwaite will restore and repair the cast iron frame of the structure at Alexandra Park, Hastings, but they need your vote to help do this. Lynda Foy of the Alexandra Park Greenhouse Group writes.

Temporary roof lets greenhouse work continue

The restoration of the greenhouse in Alexandra Park is now able to continue in all weathers thanks to temporary roofing provided by a local scaffolder.
