Calais Children: A Case To Answer

At the January Hastings Debates, Clare Moseley, founder of Care4Calais, spoke about the current desperate situation on the ground for refugees in Calais. Professor Sue Clayton (Goldsmiths University) concluded the talk with an introduction to her award winning investigative film Calais Children: A Case To Answer. Next week, on March 28th, Professor Clayton returns to Hastings for a full screening of the film, with Q and A following. Felicity Laurence from Hastings Supports Refugees writes.

Urgent items are needed for refugees in Calais who are caught between the British and the French authorities. News from the refugee frontline in Calais

The Jungle camp in Calais was broken up and its inhabitants dispersed in 2016, but not surprisingly that did not mean that the many refugees and asylum-seekers looking to enter the UK disappeared. Clare Moseley, co-founder of Care4Calais, is coming to Hastings to talk about the current situation, as Felicity Laurence of Hastings Supports Refugees explains.

Fund-raising sale of art

A sale of art will take place on Saturday 18th in aid of Hastings Supports Refugees and the local Labour Party’s Good Ruddance fighting fund. Rachel Lever, one of the moving forces behind the initiative, writes in praise of the sale of art as fund-raiser.

Nadene Ghouri to headline at second Hastings Debate

Hastings Supports Refugees will be hosting their second in a series of Hastings Debates taking place at The Palace on Hastings seafront. These will be a regular event and are in conjunction with Hastings and St Leonards becoming part of the City of Sanctuary movement.
