Hastings Museum welcomes donations to its collection

Hastings Museum and Art Gallery is celebrating it’s 125th Anniversary this summer, with an exhibition running from 24 June to 10 September. The museum is still happy to receive donations from people – from locally and wider afield.

Women’s pop up museum

Working in collaboration, Create Learn Connect, Hastings Museum and Hastings Women’s Voice are giving the women of Hastings a chance to create their own museum installation, celebrating their lives and histories. HOT’s Grace Vogiatzis spoke to one of the organisers, Chris Sanders, to find out more about the project.

Museum to host Book Bugs sessions

While the central library is being refurbished, Book Bugs for babies and toddlers is being held at Hastings museum, which also has a varied programme of exhibitions, events and activities lined up for January. Nick Terdre reports.

HYAKKI YAKOU – A Night Walk of A Hundred Demons

DEMONIC spirits, spine-chilling illusion and a fusion of light and sound will take place within the Indian folly at Hastings Museum & Art Gallery in a performance piece created by Japanese dance artist Yumino Seki,

Knitting for change

‘Knitting for Change’ is a concept brought to life in the form of a knitted graffiti wall. The project, which was supported by Hastings Borough Council, is currently on display at Hastings Museum on Bohemia Road. The wall is made from donated wool and recycled knitted garments. The knitted installation was led by a mother/daughter collaboration, as the mother, Linda Moffatt, explains.
