HFS launches mobile training

With the support of Sussex Freemasons, Hastings Furniture Services has set up a mobile workshop to take training opportunities to people unable to come to them, as the charity reports.

St Richard's Catholic College is one of many educational institutions which support Surviving Christmas.

Approx 1,000 people attended and participated in Thrift Fest, the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Hastings Furniture Service on 22 September 2018 at the Hastings Centre. Thrift Fest gathered the local groups, clubs and organisations that are helping people live active, rich, creative, fulfilled lives without costing the earth to provide a day of activities for local families.

Mark Thomas and friends support HFS

Stand-up comedian, political activist and journalist, Mark Thomas is the patron of local furniture charity, Hastings and Other Furniture Service (HFS). On 25 May, he’ll be appearing at The De La War Pavilion alongside a number of fellow comedians – Daniel Kitson, Bridget Christie, Robin Ince, Shazia Mirza, Jonny & the Baptists and Tiernan Douieb – in a comedy benefit gig.

It’s all systems go for Christmas charities

Christmas is a busy time for charities working with homeless people and families short of the resources to provide for themselves at the toughest time of the year. This is especially true for those charities with a Christmas focus, such as Surviving Christmas, which will be providing its usual seasonal hospitality. Another event has been arranged at the YMCA. Hastings Burlesque supports Hastings Furniture Service with debut show

Hastings and Rother Furniture Service (HFS) is delighted to announce that all proceeds from Hastings Burlesque’s debut show at the White Rock Theatre are to be donated to the local furniture charity.

This September, Zoom Arts is launching a brand new group exhibition celebrating the Hastings based charity HFS (Hastings and Rother Furniture Services) to produce an intriguing and informative exhibition to be shown at the Zoom Gallery, Warrior Square Station in St Leonards on Sea.
