A pioneering new study, that considers the social relationships of adolescents who receive care from mental health services and young people who experience ‘hearing voices’, is looking for volunteers.

Managed decline of oil industry

At a full Council meeting at County Hall in Lewes, campaigners handed-in over 2,800 signatures calling for East Sussex County Council to divest local people’s pensions from fossil fuels (oil, coal and gas). Cllr Richard Stogdon, Chair of the East Sussex Pension Committee stated:  ‘[I]t is in the best interest of the [East Sussex Pension] Fund to get the entire oil industry to put itself on a pathway of “managed decline”.’

Brighton votes on fossil fuel divestment

Brighton and Hove City Council votes tomorrow – Thursday 6 April – on a motion calling on fossil fuel investments held by the East Sussex pension fund to be disposed of. Ahead of the meeting divestment campaigners will demonstrate in support of the motion outside Brighton Town Hall. Nick Terdre reports.

Divestment petition for pension committee

Divestment campaigners will step up the pressure on East Sussex County Council to withdraw pension fund investments from fossil fuels by handing in a petition ahead of the pension committee meeting next Monday. Nick Terdre reports.

Divestment advice for pension committee

Divestment campaigners from Hastings and elsewhere in East Sussex stepped up their campaign to persuade the East Sussex Pension Committee to switch funds out of fossil fuels by sending the latest findings of the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) to committee chairman, Richard Stogden. Tools launched for fossil fuel divestment

Campaigners from around East Sussex have launched a new brochure and web tool to help members of the East Sussex Pension Fund (ESPF) lobby the county council to reinvest the £172 million it currently has invested in the coal, oil and gas industries. Fossil Free Hastings reports.
