8th Hastings Storytelling Festival a huge success

Hastings eighth annual Storytelling Festival came to an end last weekend after a week of some wet and windy but very successful events across town. This year’s festival explored Hastings in a variety of creative ways.

Hastings Harbour Development Proposal: some local peoples’ views

HOT’s Chandra Masoliver asks local residents Dick Edwards, Lucinda Oakes and Kerry Phillips for their views on The Harbour Development Proposal. Dick is the Chair of Hastings Old Town Residents’ Association (HOTRA). Lucinda is an artist, she is a member of Hastings Motor Boat and Yacht Club (HMBYC), where she painted the mural on the outside wall, and feels passionately about Rock a Nore and the Old Town. Kerry is Activities Co-ordinator at Queen Mary’s Nursing Home and Mulberry House, St Leonards-On-Sea. She enjoys kayaking from Rock a Nore beach.

Celebration, curry and cabaret

Hastings Storytelling Festival, celebrating Indian culture with its Reimagine India Theme for 2017, presents award winning Indian movie, Deool, along with an evening of entertainment at St Mary in the Castle, including comedy, dance puppetry, theatre, cabaret and authentic Indian cuisine.

November’s just around the corner, which means Hastings Storytelling Festival’s is fast approaching. This year is the seventh festival, with a theme of India Reimagined and a plethora of exciting storytelling events for young and old alike. Naomi Robinson writes.
