Polo Piatti winkles up in Hastings

Polo Piatti is one of the personalities to show to the wider world what diverse musical talent there is to be had in 1066 country. Having shown the Hastings Tango Club the way to go with Argentinian music, Polo is now to be for the third time music director of the Hastings International Composers Festival, which is taking place on 24-26 Sepetember. Julian Norridge interviewed Polo about his life story and how he came to Hastings.

The Hastings Sinfonia present a concert of ‘Midsummer  Melodies’ for your enjoyment, writes Chris Cormack. The orchestra consists of local talented amateur and professional musicians, who meet twice a month throughout the year. The conductor is Derek Carden, who travels from London especially to conduct the Hastings Sinfonia, and the leader is professional violinist and teacher Peter Fields, who has played in many of the great English orchestras.

HOT columnist Sean O’Shea interviews Polo Piatti, the award winning British-Argentine composer, concert pianist, classical improviser and conductor. Polo lives in Hastings and was artistic director of the UK and Europe’s first International Composers Festival. This successful event was held at St Mary in the Castle at the end of August to very popular acclaim.
