Brighter Day: Fundraising event for Citizens Advice 1066

A Brighter Day: a fundraising event organised by Keith Rodway for Citizens Advice 1066 will be held at The Printworks in Claremont in Hastings’ Trinity Triangle on Sunday 30 September between 4.00 and 10.30pm. A Brighter Day features 15 acts from the vibrant Hastings and St Leonards music scene; each will perform a short set of original material in support of CA 1066, an independent charity with no government funding, relying entirely on donations. Many of these artists also contributed to a benefit CD, which is currently available via selected outlets around the town and at the event.

SHINE: Energy initiative launches

Fuel poverty, a major issue in Hastings and St Leonards-on-Sea, means paying fuel bills results in a state of poverty. Reducing fuel poverty, lowering fuel bills, helping people to keep warm and spreading the word about energy efficiency methods are all within the remit of SHINE (Sustainable Houses In Inclusive Neighbourhoods), which launched on 26 October at Christ Church Hall in St Leonards. Sunshine to power Hastings to 2066

Amazing energy innovation for Hastings and St Leonards. The 1066 Local Energy campaign is about to be launched. A campaign by local organisations to turn homes, businesses and churches into mini green power stations to keep energy prices affordable begins at the Stade on 10 September 10 2017 with The Big Happy Sun Day. The campaign will also launch a new community energy tariff that offers better deals to those on prepay meters and a green energy tariff to support local groups.
