It’s good to mourn

Hastings Philharmonic sings to the glory!

Brazilian maestro Márcio da Silva has challenged the Hastings Philharmonic Choir to its best efforts yet under his direction – in its performance this Saturday of Claudio Monteverdi’s 1610 Vespers, one of the greatest and most complex choral pieces of all time, writes HOT reporter and second tenor Chris Cormack.

We had another musical evening last night, courtesy of the Hastings Philharmonic Choir, in the magnificent Oxford Movement building of Christ Church, Saint Leonards.  If there’s classical music going, I believe in seizing the opportunity, and although choral music isn’t my favourite, you can’t go far wrong with Bach, writes Antony Mair.
