Bottle Alley wins national award

Hastings Borough Council is celebrating after its Bottle Alley lighting scheme won ‘Outdoor lighting project of the year’ award at the prestigious 2018 LUX awards, which took place in London in November.

Hastings Borough Council has replaced some 500 metres of broken lighting with new state of the art equipment that is programmable for special effects – and can be synchronised to music to create a wonderful sound and light spectacle.

Coastal Currents 2017

Our annual culture Fest, Coastal Currents is almost on us again. The time when strange things can turn up in Hastings – yes, even stranger than normal ­– animate the streets, puzzle onlookers, make us laugh, scratch our heads and visit places we don’t normally visit. HOT’s Lauris Morgan-Griffiths spoke to Director Tina Morris about what was in store this year.

Strange currents in odd places

End of August approaches and with it Hastings and St Leonards annual arts festival, Coastal Currents. Amazingly, now in its sixteenth year, it has been growing exponentially in size and character, attracting international groups and live events as well as supporting local artists. HOT’s Lauris Morgan-Griffiths talked to one of the curators, Tina Morris.
