Welcoming blooms

The greening of Warrior Square Station

The Transition Town Hastings team have been busy again this year at their community garden at St Leonards Warrior Square Station. They have been developing and nurturing the land to make it not only more pleasingly attractive to the eye but to demonstrate how to grow flowers and herbs, enjoy the art of growing and nourishing and discover how – with some united time and effort – a location can be transformed. Alison Cooper, one of the TTH team members, sent HOT some photos.

Concert offers people their Time To Shine

Aware of the transformational power of music, Alison Cooper and Michael Grant from Time To Shine have once again been working with individuals and the choir from The Seaview Project in St Leonards on Sea – and they invite you to attend the finale concert. HOT’s Zelly Restorick asked Alison Cooper about Time To Shine and how music helps people to blossom and evolve.

Singles Games Night!

Singled Out games night

Local resident, Alison Cooper, a person who has an idea and follows it through with action, is running her second singles event. The first was a dance night – and now, a games evening. Her aim is for single people to have some fun, meet other single people in an informal environment – and possibly – who knows? – cross paths with their future soul mate. Zelly Restorick writes.

Acclimatising musicians!

I am looking to set up a fortnightly ‘play’ with people who are ready & want to play with other musicians, but don’t necessarily feel comfortable going to jam at a pub yet! (It can’t be just me, can it?!!) Alison Cooper seeks souls with a desire to explore their musical aspirations.

Time To Shine participants and Michael at Seaview.

Time To Shine

On Friday 23 September a group of service users from Seaview, a local centre supporting marginalised individuals within the community, will be at the Masonic Hall in St Leonards singing their hearts out with a live band of West End musicians, in a show that promises to be a truly inspiring experience. None of them have taken on such a challenge before, but with the help of The Time to Shine Project, they intend to face their fears and give their audience a night to remember! Zelly Restorick speaks to Alison Cooper to find out more.
