Transition Town Hastings
Just to let you know that we are lucky enough to have a Transition Town group evolving in Hastings now. The Vision Day was back in April, where it became clear what issues would be of most interest and importance to local people: food growing, transport, economy, energy, housing and waste. HOT’s Zelly Restorick spreads the word.
Since the inception of the Transition Town concept in Totnes by Rob Hopkins and Naresh Giangrande, the idea has spread throughout the world. Developed in response to climate change, fossil fuel depletion, peak oil, economic contraction, globalisation and environmental concerns, the concept continues to evolve in unique ways. And now we are lucky enough to have a group in Hastings and St Leonards-on-Sea.
The local group has already held talks and meetings on energy conservation in our homes and housing, is considering a LETS exchange scheme, organised a trip to a local agricultural project – and a walk with local herbalist, Ben Fairlight. If you’d like to get involved, please contact the Transition team.
Waste not, want not
The first Waste Group meeting is Thursday 27 Aug 2015 at the White Rock Hotel at 6.30pm. All welcome!

Great news about the Transition Towns concept coming to Hastings, a really appropriate place for it to be. Do try and get involved if you can.
