Last minute! Litter pickers wanted. Plus pot luck dinner

If you love litter picking and cleaning up, then looking back to survey a satisfying rubbish free zone, Transition Town Hastings needs your help. And TTH are also having their latest pot luck gathering this weekend.

*** UPDATE on 2 March 2018: The Fernside litter picking has been cancelled due to weather conditions. The area is slippery and the rubbish can’t be seen.

Come and join the happy throng – and they are a happy bunch at Transition Town Hastings – to help clear up a couple of areas of litter and take pride in creating a happier & healthier space!

Join them for a tidy up session, in one of two locations: they’ll have tasks for all abilities:

MEET AT TESCO LITTLE RIDGE AVE ON FRIDAY 2 March 2018 at 2 pm

MEET AT TESCO FERNSIDE AVE ON SATURDAY 3 March 2018 at 10 am

They’ll have litter pickers, sacks, gloves and support from HBC …. they just need some more helping hands! For further information contact John on 07802 867147 or via jonnyfunnell@live.co.uk or via Next Door.

All Welcome!

Tesco Bags of Help Grant Scheme

While you’re at Tesco, you can add a token to Transition Town Hastings’ Meet You At The Mosaic project, as part of the Tesco Bags Of Help Grant Scheme. You might need to ask for a token, as they’re not always available.

Transition Town Hastings Pot Luck Dinner!

This is certainly turning out to be one of the most popular Transition Town Hastings events. Why? Because everyone brings such luscious, varied, wholesome and yummy food to share!

So lick your lips and make a note in your diary: Sat 3 March 2018 from 7 – 9.30pm at St John’s Church Hall on Pevensey Rd & Brittany Rd corner, St Leonards on Sea,
TN38 0RD.

It’s free! It’s fun! Go along and join the Transition Towners with a dish or drink or snack of your choosing, pull up a chair and enjoy just hanging out! All welcome!

Transition Town Hastings, an unincorporated, non political organisation relying on a committed group of volunteers, was initially established in 2008. In 2015, after a lull in activity, a new group was established with the following aims:

  • To respond to the challenges of climate change and over-dependence on fossil fuels and economic instability.
  • To support affiliated groups where possible in Hastings, St Leonards and Rother.
  • To provide practical examples of sustainable living.
  • To promote knowledge-sharing, raise awareness and encourage community participation and well-being.

Please keep me posted, been wanting to fight litter for years, special interest in my patch, central St Leonards. Happy to go picking but also have ideas for longer term. And the pot luck dinner sounds good too, let me know when the next one is.
