Cycle-way to Heaven?
Well, not quite, but cyclists can now legally make their way all along the sea-front to the Stade. It’s worth noting as there is little signage to make it clear that the existing cycle-way has been extended from where it ended opposite the junction with Robertson Street. At places the way is marked by dotted lines to indicate that it is open to both pedestrians and cyclists, so special care must be taken – something cyclists are already used to, given the number of pedestrians who invade the path reserved for them on the section running west to St Leonards.
Next stop – creating a cycle-path from Glyne Gap to Bexhill. This is a more ambitious project which will require a lot of work, and it will not be opening in the immediate future, a Council spokesman tells HOT.
