Volunteering for the Pier

The Pier Information Centre and Shop at the old Arthur Green’s, on the seafront at White Rock, Hastings, opened with a fanfare of music, tea and cakes and period finery on 18 April. Arthur Green’s is a historic men’s tailoring shop originally opened in 1870s filled with beautiful Victorian shop fittings. It’s now stocked with a variety of locally crafted and antique objects, books and clothes.

To help keep the whop open, more volunteers are needed. As well as dealing with customers in the shop, volunteers will become advocates for the Pier Trust — talking to members of the public about the history of the Pier and Arthur Green’s (training will be provided) and assisting with the running of the Trust.

The Trust is run by a group of residents who are passionate about saving the Pier and improving the White Rock area of Hastings. You will be working in a fun environment with a mix of people. If interested, contact Angela at angeladavis@yahoo.co.uk
