JJ Waller reviews St Leonards Festival in pictures and words

Friend of HOT and photographer JJ Waller has been photographing St Leonards for over a decade. The photos here document his experience of the St Leonards Festival events – and the Jeremy Corbyn rally – last Saturday.

JJ says: “I’m sending over a set of pictures for you to share with HOT readers, They pretty much reflect my day, i just loved it.”

“This was my first visit for some months although my 9th festival, I think.”

“I loved the new format with a politician headlining instead of a tribute band.”

“This festival was as good as any I have been too. The split locations for events was  particularly good.”

“Who would of thought of ever watching a Crooner in concert in the furniture store beneath Marine Court.”

“Surreal fun.”

“The changes were amazing, so many  new businesses and the property prices :] Somethings were the same, dog poo…”

“and cracked paving.”

Editor’s footnote: the one sad event of the day was a young lad who had been standing on the railings fell and impaled the top of his leg. Fortunately he’s making a rapid recovery. To our knowledge, the person in the top photograph is not the young man who fell.
