Stage 3 involves youngsters with global issues

This Saturday 30 March, 1-2pm, the Stage 3 theatre company, part of People’s Palace Projects, are bringing their award-winning and self-titled performance to the White Rock theatre. Immediately following will be a free workshop for ages 12-18 to discuss concerning issues in a fun and interactive fashion. HOT’s Jordan Dixon writes.

1,000 books for young people with visual impairments

£6,540 has been awarded by DM Thomas Foundation for Young People to help provide 1,000 books adapted for young people with visual impairments to the National Accessible Library run by Seeing Ear. The foundation reports.

Summer Club Jungle is a Go!

Hastings Hawaiian connection

Students from the University of Hawaii recently paid a visit to Hastings. They were in England to study archives relating to an education programme instigated by King Kalakaua. The Mayor of Hastings, Cllr Nigel Sinden, along with Friends of Hastings Cemetery members Anne Scott and Marylin Saklatval, were on hand to greet them on arrival, later accompanying them to visit the grave of Dr Matthew Everard Puakahakoililanimanuia Makalua, who is buried at Hastings Cemetery.

Grant success for Woodland Project
