Coastal Space? Whatever happened to Local Space?

The council has joined forces with local housing association AmicusHorizon to create a social regeneration project known as Coastal Space. This follows the withdrawal of Newham-based housing association Local Space from its much-heralded £2 million partnership with HBC, which had been designed to achieve very similar goals. Below we briefly relay HBC’s press release about the new link with AmicusHorizon, but keep your eye on HOT for the full story behind the departure of Local Space.

Back in the middle of December, when ESCC unexpectedly started work on the Bexhill Hastings Link Road, campaigners and defenders gathered to peacefully protest against the trees being felled by the chain saw crews. Better days are getting nearer for Hastings pier.

Grant secured for pier restaurant

Hastings Pier has taken another big step towards restoration by winning a £750,000 grant from the government’s Coastal Communities fund. A further £443,000 has been allocated to Sussex Coast College to establish a coastal industries academy, writes Nick Terdre.
