Catalysing economic change

Join the movement to create a fairer, more thoughtful economic system. Word is spreading that an alternative, local financial system is entirely possible: it’s already happening in other parts of this country and around the globe, so why not here? HOT’s Zelly Restorick encourages your active involvement and participation – and to not underestimate your individual personal power to change things for the better.

Walk-in Centre campaign gets Swish!

Saturday’s ‘get-together’ outside the Walk-in Centre at Station Plaza was the third and biggest of the campaign’s well-mannered protests so far. Over 70 people gathered outside the Walk-in Centre and shared their experiences of using the facility and why it was important that it remain in the town centre.

Location, location, location: good news for the Walk-in Centre

Local residents’ concerns about the Walk-in Centre appear to have been heard by the Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) officers who have been pushing to replace the popular town centre resource with an Urgent Treatment Centre at the Conquest Hospital. Campaigning continued this Saturday with a Labour Party petition drive in the town centre, and a gathering outside the Walk-In Centre with Dawn Butler MP, shadow Secretary of State for Women and Equalities, joining the campaign. Erica Smith reports.

Walk-in Centre campaigns continue to raise concerns

This week has been a busy time for people concerned about the potential closure of the town centre walk-in health centre. All week there have been campaigners getting signatures for the Labour Party-supported petition, on Friday 21 September Amber Rudd MP is holding a meeting at Sussex Coast College Hastings, and on Saturday 22nd at 1pm there will be a get-together outside the Walk-In Centre for people to show their support for keeping the service in the town centre. HOT’s Erica Smith gives us an update.

No Voice, No Choice

“I am banging the ban long distance live exports drum again”, writes HOT’s Zelly Restorick. Michael Gove is apparently now considering not banning this cruel industry, post Brexit, but making some restrictions. If this is an issue you care about, now is the time to do something.
