Run off the Christmas dinner

Hastings parkrun is a FREE 5-km (3-mile) run which takes place on Saturdays at 9am. It is part of the nationwide series of parkruns, with over 350 now available in the UK, and is suitable for all ages and abilities – including wheelchair users. Chess tourney another success for Hastings

There was Chinese victory in the Masters tournament of the Hastings International Chess Congress this week, but the congress, now waiting to see how its council grant holds up in the coming settlement, is itself a victory for the town. Nick Terdre reports.

Poor United Suffer Third Consecutive Defeat

A 1-0 defeat away to Tooting and Mitcham, an abysmal performance away at Walton and Hersham on Saturday saw United suffer back-to-back defeats for the second time this season. With the words of Terry White still ringing in the players ears, United faced Chipstead, who they beat by a single goal on the opening day of the season. United were hoping to correct the wrongs and gain three points on this Monday evening, and with a full squad available, there’s no reason why they couldn’t. Liam Willis reports.
