Victory for black team in chess-archery contest

Team Rasa with the black pieces triumphed in the second Hastings Chess-Archery Contest held at Horntye Park in late October. Kenyans take first places but everyone’s a winner in the Hastings Half Marathon

The 32nd Hastings Half Marathon took place on Sunday, with Kenyan runners taking first place among both men and women. Despite the overcast skies and chill air, it proved a great success, not least in numbers, attracting just under 3,500 participants. Nick Terdre reports.

Team Pestalozzi celebrate finishing last year's half marathon, when they raised £4,000. This year they're aiming for £6,000.

Source Park: worth the risk

Hastings entrepreneurs Rich and Marc Moore are pulling out all the stops to ensure that the beachside skatepark complex, known as Source Park, is open for a spectacle this Saturday 13 February 2016, writes Chris Cormack.  All this for a few thrills and spills you may say, but no, this is the training base for the new 21st century heroes. Yes, there will be bumps and scrapes, a ‘health and safety nightmare’, but well done Hastings Borough Council for identifying that this is what is needed nevertheless as an outlet for adventure.
