Another Draw for United

On what always seemed to be a controversial and tasty affair, it was that point in the season for Wealdstone to visit the Pilot Field. This match was significant for two United players. It was Liam O’Brien’s home debut for the U’s and it was Josh Jirbandey’s 166th and final appearance for the U’s, writes Liam Willis.

Come on the U’s!

Extra time, nerves kicked in. …Again, chances for both teams – penalties was getting increasingly closer and the crowd were getting more nervous….. More chances….. The referee blows his whistle – penalties it is! The cruelest way to be knocked out, but an excellent way to go through! When Platt missed Harrogate’s second penalty, the noise was incredible….. Tension was building, and Danny Ellis had the chance to win it for The U’s…. Over the bar…. Oh no! sudden death!!!  Elam then missed for Harrogate, which gave Dee Okojie the opportunity to win it for Hastings United! He dispatched it perfectly! Hastings are through!  Liam Willis previews the big match for Saturday.
