Mermaids on the Beach is a first time, and rather unique event, and on Saturday 21 June we can expect to see a pod of Hastings-made mermaids gathering together for the best event of the summer. HOT writer Jessica Parker speaks to events organiser, Teresa Beacham.

Women’s pop up museum

Working in collaboration, Create Learn Connect, Hastings Museum and Hastings Women’s Voice are giving the women of Hastings a chance to create their own museum installation, celebrating their lives and histories. Knitting for change

‘Knitting for Change’ is a concept brought to life in the form of a knitted graffiti wall. The project, which was supported by Hastings Borough Council, is currently on display at Hastings Museum on Bohemia Road. The wall is made from donated wool and recycled knitted garments. The knitted installation was led by a mother/daughter collaboration, as the mother, Linda Moffatt, explains.
