The Weekend Break

The Weekend Break by Cheryl White comes to the OB Theatre, Hastings on July 20th 2016.

First Heard is a project set up to give local playwrights an opportunity too hear their work performed before a live audience and thus gain valuable feedback for future development. Fourth in this series is The Weekend Break by Cheryl White.

The Weekend Break is a play which explores the consequences of past actions.  ‘When her friend’s house is burgled during a weekend visit, an ex-junkie must prove she is innocent of the robbery or be exposed for a crime she covered up during their college days’.

Audiences to date have enjoyed the relaxed approach to the evening, as well as the opportunity to engage with writers and actors. Tickets are just £5 and go towards the actors’ expenses, who are, by and large, all professionally trained and giving their time for free.

John Knowles, who developed ‘First Heard’, continues to look for new writing talent and if you wish to be considered for a ‘First Heard’ slot, then please contact him at: theatre@obseverbuildinghastings.co.uk or call on 07813 03 55 14

Doors 7.00pm for 7.30pm at the Observer Building, Cambridge Road, Hastings.
