Roomz for the Community
The Roomz in Western Road, St Leonards, has had several incarnations since it opened in 2004, and August sees a new look, a new schedule, and a new manager. HOT’s Erica Smith went to explore…
David Francis, aka Ukelele Dave is an old friend and the new frontman for The Roomz. He’s set about organising a new schedule for the venue, and will, no doubt, be bursting into song whenever the fancy takes him.
There are some delicious new treats on the menu and the famous Roomz Tapas is back. There will of course be an array of diverse eclectic live performances every Friday and Saturday night, keep an eye on their website and facebook for details or look out for listings in the local magazines – or pop into The Roomz for a flier.
Soundscape Studio and Rehearsal Space – fully equipped Rehearsal rooms and Recording Studio are available to hire at very affordable rates – pop in/call/email for information.
As part of The Roomz Community Services, they have become a micro provider, running Day Opportunity Sessions for people with dementia /confusion/memory loss – Wednesdays 9am–5pm £55 per day including transport, meals & refreshments and activities. What a fresh and creative approach to offering services to our community! – email owlls@theroomz.org.uk or call Caz on 07815 711702 for information and bookings.
