Fat Tuesday festival needs you!
John Knowles, volunteer co-ordinator for Fat Tuesday, is on a recruiting drive.
This year the fabulous Fat Tuesday festival runs from Friday 24 to Tuesday 28 February, and with a huge array of music, workshops, talks and parades we need volunteers to help us inform visitors as to what is on offer.
We also need to evaluate the event and for this we need volunteers willing to talk to visitors about their experience. You will be a major point of contact for the festival and an essential part of making it happen.
Ideally we are after young people looking for work experience who will want interesting projects on their CVs. We also need some over-18s, though, as a great many gigs take place in bars throughout the Old Town.
What’s in it for me? I hear you cry. Well, apart from being a part of one of the town’s major festivals, you will have a wristband gaining you entry into events and an invitation to the after-show party. There will be a small thank-you fee and we will happily provide a letter for future employers stating how you helped out on this major event.
You must be available for at least four sessions (4 hours plus) from the Friday to the Tuesday and ideally for a briefing on Wednesday 22 at The Palace (time TBC). If you are interested, or would like to know more, then please contact me on 07813 03 55 14.
Thanks from Fat Tuesday!
