The Mother Lode Project

You are warmly invited to celebrate the launch of a publication and podcast, produced as part of The Mother Lode Project, a creative peer support programme for mothers experiencing mental health challenges, in partnership with the De La Warr Pavilion and Recovery Partners.

The afternoon will unfold through presentations and activities led by artist and project coordinator, Xaverine MA Bates, writer, Antonia Chitty and peer support worker, Chenielle Jefferies.

UnknownProject participants will share their reflections, creative writing and selected photographs curated by artist, Vicki Painting, displayed alongside the short film about motherhood, This That Happens by Rebecca E Marshall.

Guest speakers include Maggie Gordon-Walker from Brighton-based Mothers Uncovered, who will read excerpts from her book, The Secret Life of Mothers – and performance poet, AR Wordsmith, as well as the launch of our podcast featuring conversations about the intersection between motherhood, mental health & creativity produced by sound artist Jilliene Sellner.

Open to all, and particularly relevant to Arts and Mental Health professionals.

There will be a creche provided for anyone with children aged 0 – 5 years.

Booking is essential by emailing Xaverine Bates at x.m.a.bates@recovery-partners.co.uk. Please let her know how many people will be coming and whether you will be using the creche, with details of your children’s ages & any special requirements.
