Zoom Arts present Birch and Bachene at St Leonards gallery

Zoom Arts 1066 presents Inline, a new exhibition of drawings by Anthony Birch and paintings by guest artist Anna Bachene at the Warrior Square railway station gallery. The group previews the exhibition.

Anthony Birch, who also exhibited in the gallery in June, is back with a new collection of detailed yet simple line drawings that focus on Hastings landmarks. His bold drawings are created in a style that enhances the key architectural features of buildings and structures.

Originally from the north-east, where he studied art at Newcastle College, Anthony has truly found his style, and has enjoyed recent success in producing commissioned work and graphics projects designing branding for local bands and events. Now resident in Hastings, he has been a Zoom Arts member for a year.

Guest artist Anna Bachene is presenting new works full of vibrant colour, the deep reds and blues both contrasting with and complementing the monotone of Anthony’s work.

London-born Anna has been on the local art scene for six years and a Zoom Arts member for over half that time. She firmly established her reputation in the area by creating collectable icons along with a friend. Although icons still play a huge part in her current work, she has switched to much larger works on canvas. She is well-known for using a mixture of techniques ranging from acrylic paint to collage, giving her work vibrancy and texture.
